Last October 21st, Delica, along with 12 other design companies, took part in InteriHOTEL, the marketplace for hotel interiors, which took place over three days at the Barcelona International Convention Centre.
Delica and the other RED,(Association of Spanish Design Companies) companies took centre stage at InteriHOTEL because they had to furnish the marketplace Lounge Area with the very best in design.
The Lounge Area, designed by interior designer Elia Felices, was created in the style of the lobby of a grand hotel with interior design items such as furniture and lighting, etc.
More than 2,000 people visited InteriHOTEL and were able to admire some of Delica’s collections, including Sacha trays, designed by Santos Bregaña and the Kuusi collection of tablemats and coasters by the designer Anna Karell, as well as the design studio ZooCreative’s latest three designs; namely the Ameba range of chargers, tablemats and coasters, the Lorea fruit basket, and the M2 side table.
In addition to product showrooms, visitors to this fifth edition of InteriHOTEL, with its over 100 participating brands, could attend specialised presentations given by well-known architects and professionals from the hotel sector. This facilitated a debate on key issues facing the hotel industry today, including hotel design as an interior design speciality, hotel accessibility and sustainability among others.
In the awards section, the InteriHOTEL organisers gave the “Product innovation” award to Alt Bath, a company that has developed a rapid hotel bathroom renovation system. The award for the “Best interiors blog article” went to the article “Accesibilidad vs decoración” (Accessibility vs. decoration) published in the blog “Silleros viajeros” (or Wheelchair travellers), an interesting and much-needed analysis of hotel design that addresses the needs of people with physical disabilities.
In short, a very rewarding experience that we hope to repeat alongside RED at the next edition!
