Of Croatian origin, Santos Bregaña was accidentally born in Pamplona in 1965, on the same day and at the same time that Le Corbusier drowned himself in Cap Martín.
He studied Architecture in San Sebastián and Barcelona, and founded the atelier laia in 1996, to develop graphic and industrail design projects usually related to gastronomic culture.
In 2008, together with Anne Ibáñez Guridi, he won the Art Director Club NY Sphere award in recognition of this work at the Mugaritz restaurant since its opening.
He currently runs Tabula Publishing Company, devoted to the dissemination of culture and gastronomy, and he has been a speaker at the ‘kitchen dialogues’, BBAA programs and BBC courses. His porcelain designs and his ‘o! luna’, ‘tabula’ and ‘linneo’ collections have made him a designer of international prestige and are exhibited at many of the best restaurants and hotels around the world. His work has been exhibited in Paris, Washington, New York and Tokio among others.
